Environmental Permit Service Center

At the Environmental Permit Service Center we help citizens and businesses understand and navigate Washington’s environmental permitting processes.

We answer questions about local, state and federal permits and regulatory requirements.  We can research project-specific regulatory requirements and help you get started applying for permits.  If we don’t have the information you need, we can connect you with the right people in local, state and federal agencies.

Our services are free.  Email us or give us call.

Examples of how we help citizens and businesses

  • Connecting a small business owner interested in biodiesel manufacturing with regulators and safety officials.

  • Explaining to an entrepreneur the permits and requirements for owning and operating an auto body business.

  • Putting a farmer in touch with state agency staff to determine if water rights were attached to a piece of property.

  • Explaining to a waterfront homeowner the permitting process for dock and mooring buoy construction.
