The Governor's Office of Regulatory Assistance is the place where people come to understand how rules, regulations and government requirements apply to environmental permitting and business licensing. We provide leadership across government agencies and jurisdictions to improve and simplify Washington’s regulatory system. We also provide direct assistance to businesses and individuals as they navigate complex state, local and federal environmental regulations.
Governor Chris Gregoire’s Next Washington strategy for global competitiveness requires keeping Washington open for business while preserving our unique environment. We are proud to be part of Governor Gregoire’s effort to make it as easy as possible to do business in Washington today, and to improve and simplify government tomorrow.
Governor Gregoire has charged the Office of Regulatory Assistance with providing online tools and hands-on support to help citizens and businesses Get it Right the First Time – whether you’re applying your first business license or tackling a new project requiring environmental permits.
She has also directed us to improve and simplify licensing and permitting across all state agencies and local, state and federal governments. Step by step, we are Doing it Better in Washington.
