Regional Assistance Leads

Regional Assistance Leads help businesses, organizations and individuals with complex projects that require local, state, and federal permits.  We work with you to understand your project, identify required environmental permits, guide you to agency contacts, and create a road map for your specific permit process.

As independent facilitators between applicants and agencies, we work with the permitting agencies to make sure you have the information you need.  If your project encounters roadblocks or bottlenecks, contact us and we will get the right people together to help you identify your options.

Our Environmental Permit Service Center can put you in touch with the Assistance Lead for your region. Contact them by phone at 360-407-7037 or 1-800-917-0043, or send an email to help@ora.wa.gov.

Examples of how we help citizens, businesses, and regulatory agencies

  • Regional Assistance Leads bring businesses and local, state and federal agencies together to build projects like lumber mills, glass plants, biotech firms, mining businesses, pipelines, prisons, housing developments, and alternative energy projects.

  • We help agencies and nonprofit organizations restore habitat by removing creosote pilings or developing collaborative approaches to water management.

  • We also help small communities across Washington address development issues by connecting local agencies with state and federal regulators.
