Welcome!
This site presents an overview of the origins, evolution,
accomplishments, and lessons learned of the Transportation Permit
Efficiency and Accountability Committee (TPEAC).
Click here to read more about this site. From its start in
2001, TPEAC sought to streamline the environmental permitting process
for transportation projects in Washington State. Successful
streamlining activities must balance permit delivery goals and
environmental protection and can be measured by four criteria:
-
Reduced project delivery time
-
Reduced project delivery costs
-
Increased environmental performance
-
Customer/stakeholder satisfaction
The Committee's work to improve Washington State's
transportation permitting process serves as a model for collaborative,
multi-stakeholder efforts to increase regulatory efficiency while
maintaining high environmental standards. Read more about TPEAC's
efforts and accomplishments in the TPEAC
folio (March 2006).
