About this site . . .
This site presents an overview of the
TPEAC experience, the Committee's products, lessons
learned, and next steps. The information contained in
this site was obtained from the following sources:
- Conversations with past and
present TPEAC members and participants
- TPEAC meeting notes and
highlights (available online at WSDOT's
Environmental Permit Streamlining Act site)
- Documents produced by TPEAC, its
subcommittees, and other entities (most are
available in this site's Library)
- Other relevant reference
materials
It should be noted that the intent of
this site is not to provide an academic case study of
the Committee. Rather, it is intended to capture key
components of the TPEAC experience and communicate them
to interested audiences. By examining the Committee's
origins, evolution, accomplishments, and lessons
learned, this site provides access to valuable
information about transportation streamlining products,
regulatory reform, interagency coordination, and the
collaborative process.
Of course, there are limitations to
the methods used to develop content for this site. This
is a work in progress, and the information on this site
will continue to evolve over the next months. While
every attempt has been made to speak with all of TPEAC's
participants, key individuals have not yet had the
opportunity to express their experiences and opinions.
As these conversations occur, information will be added
and refined to capture the diversity of viewpoints.
